We struggled to complete this piece at first, and eventually took on a "just add more" strategy where we added many different layers. By the end of the piece, many original elements were covered or distorted such that they're barely visable in the final piece. This strategy was then used in many complex peices later. It was also the first use of the "scrubbing" technique where we purposefully pulled up some of the paper with water.
